Assessment of Test Construction Knowledge of Senior Secondary School Teachers in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State, Nigeria

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to assess the knowledge of teachers on test construction in Ungogo Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano state, Nigeria. To achieve this objective, the descriptive research design was adopted for the study. A population of 260 comprising the entire senior secondary school teachers in the local government was used for the study. Data was obtained through Teachers Test Construction Scale (TTCS) instrument. All the hypotheses raised by the study were tested at 0.05 significance level using SPSS. Findings revealed that no significant difference was found on teachers’ knowledge of test construction between male and female teachers, and also, teachers’ level of experience. It was concluded that gender and level of experience have no significant effect on teachers’ knowledge on test construction in Ungogo. The study recommended among others that government and other developmental partners should continue to develop the capacity teachers in the area of test construction through organizing training sessions, workshops and seminars.
